Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer, who will work at our prestigious premise in the heart of Fitzrovia, London. As part of the Facilities Management Team this position is an integral role looking after the office over night on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (5pm to 5am shifts).

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working as a Security Officer and please note this role is for night shifts only.

You will be acting as a reception point for visitors to report to, answering the phones, monitoring the CCTV, making sure that only authorised people enter the building. It also includes making regular rounds of the entire building to check that everything is in order. As part of a team of five Security Officers, additional overtime shifts may also be offered when holiday cover is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • As part of the Facilities Management team you are responsible for the smooth running of the building and all related services. Working closely with the Health & Safety team to see the building and its contents are checked and maintained to provide a safe and healthy working environment. 
  • Admitting only Imagination staff and freelancers to the building and other visitors when authorised
  • Seeking confirmation from a member of staff before admitting any unknown person
  • Seeing that visitors sign the visitor’s book and take a visitor’s pass
  • Ensuring that no entrances to the building are left unlocked when unattended
  • Keeping appropriate records in log book
  • Ensuring that internal fire doors are all shut
  • Answering the switchboard promptly and dealing with callers appropriately
  • Seeing that messages and deliveries get to staff as quickly as possible
  • Booking cabs on request in accordance with an approved system
  • Receiving, checking and signing for deliveries, and entering details in the relevant book

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Previous security work desirable
  • Ability to work nights on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (5pm to 5am)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, visitors and callers
  • Confident and assertive in dealing with awkward situations

Personal qualities required:

  • Honesty, dependability, conscientiousness and good time-keeping
